Jakarta, Aktual.com – Member of Commission XI in The House Of Representatives (DPR) Heri Gunawan asked the government to maintain the stability of the circulation of money so that the national economy is strong. Heri said the government plans to print new money with the image of national heroes should be preceded by ensuring the stability of the circulation of money in the community.
“I hope the government, particularly BI, to maintain the stability of the amount of money circulating in the community. BI discretion should provide for the needs of rupiah in the community with sufficient nominal amount, type of fractional appropriate, timely, and in a condition fit for circulation,” he said, Sunday (18/9).
According to Heri, the central bank needs to pay attention that the money issued must be able to facilitate payment transactions in cash, easy to use, easily recognizable, durable, and difficult to counterfeit.
Strengthen supervision is also necessary to combat the circulation of counterfeit money. BI, pleaded necessary to strive for the money circulating in the community fairly and according to the type of the pieces.
Heri also asked the government to consider carefully plan and conduct the printing of new money and appropriate supervision of the circulation of money in the country.
Previously, Bank Indonesia said 11 types of new rupiah currency with images 12 national hero will be published simultaneously. BI Deputy Governor Ronald Waas via text message to Antara in Jakarta, Thursday (15/9) explains, the process of issuing 11 kinds of new money will be made in 2016.

Money Management Executive Director BI Suhaedi said the central bank is designing 11 kinds of new money.
Once designed, proficiency level 11 new money would be printed by Printing Money Public Company of the Republic of Indonesia (Peruri).
“After printed, the new money will be issued and circulated,” he said.
A total of 11 new money that will meet all the physical traits in Currency Act No. 7 of 2011. Physical characteristics, among others, the emblem of Garuda Pancasila, the phrase of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), a signature of the government and BI, as well as in print and in emissions.
Currently, the new denomination banknotes of 100 thousand which meets all the physical requirements of money corresponding Currency Law, said Suhaedi.
Banknote 100 thousand was also newly included the phrase Homeland.
With the issuance of the decree, Suhaedi ensures the BI will produce 11 new money, including banknotes of 100 thousand which already meets all the physical characteristics in Currency Law.
