Jakarta, Aktual.com – Minister of Communications and Information (Kominfo) Rudiantara will immediately check the letter of the Minister of Transport, Ignatius Jonan, which recommends Kominfo to block applications Grab Car and Uber Taxi.
“I have not been to the office, so do not know the contents of the letter, but I will check,” he said at Gedung Nusantara II, Jakarta, Monday (14/3).
He said he could not judge whether Grab Car and Uber Taxi violates the rules or not.
According to him, it is the authority of the Ministry of Transportation, because both are included in the transportation sector.
“If the regulation of the sector, most know the regulators. I am not from the communications sector so can not judge,” he said.
He also considered important for Indonesia to have personal data protection regulations. This is related to one of the reasons for blocking the application request by state-owned foreign company can potentially endanger the security of the country.
Previously, the minister Ignatius Johan issued an AJ numbers 206/1/1 PHB 2016 on the application for blocking the application Grab Uber Car and Taxi to the minister Rudiantara.
Minister Johan assess the company in violation of Article 138 paragraph (3), Article 139, paragraph (4), Article 173 paragraph (1) of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation.
The company is creating unrest and conflicts among businessmen official transportation and taxi drivers officially.
