Jakarta, Aktual.com – Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu desire to buy 10 units of fighter aircraft Su-35 Russian-made by Sukhoi from having to go through long administration. Purchase of fighter aircraft to the Air Force will be taken care of technical administration.
“Administrative and technical is much and very long,” said Minister of Politic Cordinator and Security (Menkopolhukam) while DIKLAT Opening Force Regional Head Office 2nd BPSDM Interior Ministry, Kalibata, South Jakarta, Thursday (26/5).
Admittedly, the Su-35 aircraft will replace the fleet of F-5E Tiger II Air Force advanced technology. This aircraft combines or a combination of the dogfight and bomber. Dogfight is air combat between fighter in maneuvering over short distances.
“The technology is so advanced now, if it be release at Russia, Indonesia the first country outside of Russia who had Sukhoi 35,” said Luhut.
Vice Chairman of Commission I TB Hasanuddin previously said the purchase of the Sukhoi aircraft from Russia will be decided by the President Joko Widodo although Defense Minister want to procurement of the aircraft.
He admitted that Sukhoi has many advantages than other types of fighter aircraft, like the F-16.
“Sukhoi pilots are familiar with us, then superior to the F-16. The third possibility embargo was not possible, if we are with the Americans there are a lot of possibilities,” he said.
“The purchase of defense equipment can not be separated from political decisions of both countries, and its geopolitical as to what the strategy is like, there are special considerations. But we leave it to the government. The government knows better the needs of the government. We are loyal to what the president said,” he continued.
