Jakarta, Aktual.com – Head of Public Relations Unit Special Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas), Taslim Z Yunus shared the reason thes project onstream in Masela gas block until 2026 due to delayed completion of Plan Of Development (POD) of Inpex as existing operators.
Also according to Taslim some districts scramble offered to the location of the operation, so it has not been decided as considering potential social conflict.
“POD should be completed in 2019, but we encourage Inpex for POD. We’ve been to the Moluccas, the first social matter, we do not know, scramble district, one asked, and the others also ask,” he said in Jakarta, written on Friday (24/6).
To that he said, he expected the intervention of the Ministry of Interior in order to specify which district to be used as the operating area, it is in order to avoid any potential conflict.
“If it was like this there should be intervention, ministry of interior have to make decision. Of course the economic area for Inpex and for the country,” he said.
As is known, after President Joko Widodo expressed his direction that the Masela block developed onshore, Inpex had long sulk and did not discuss POD because the direction of the President contrary to his wishes.

But on the 14th of this month Inpex confirms its commitment to develop the gas block onshore scheme in accordance with the government’s desire.
