Jakarta, Aktual.com – Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security (Kemenkopulhukam) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the development in Papua using anthropological techniques.
“The government uses anthropological approach, Papua was divided into seven indigenous territories, as major tribes that there and in the development of the Papua people get involved,” said Luhut in Kemenpolhukam, Jakarta, Monday (9/5).
He said development in Papua will be comprehensive and integrated manner by prioritizing the development of Human Resources first.
Regarding the human rights violations in Papua, the government continues its efforts to solve the case, the settlement also involves the Papuans.
“Of the 22 cases they have lived 12 will be grouped again, we will finish this problem. If need be trialed of course we do trialed, but everything must be with the data,” he said.
He believes that Indonesia can solve their own problems without help from others.
In early May, Kemenkopolhukam invited former East Timor’s president Jose Ramos Horta to visit and see the situation in Papua, Horta said Indonesia can solve the problem of a Papuan human rights.
He said most people still believe in Papua with the Indonesian government and does not want to part.
“With the new government in the hands of President Joko Widodo, who is committed to improving the situation in Papua, a lot of people there who are expecting to swallow after years of disappointment, I see a lot of hope in the new government,” Ramos-Horta said.
