Jakarta, Aktual.com – expensive electricity tariffs in Indonesia are not only complained of by the general public, but the industry in the country participated feel burdened by Jokowi-JK government policy.
Chairman of the Indonesian Textiles Association (API), Ade Sudrajat said the government’s policy is not smart and just want an instant only.
“Indeed, the government needs money, but dont take from our country, this is wrong, I think energy policy price have to lowered so happens multiplier effect of the tax, so that the industry is growing even though the government take from taxes, do not to energy, less clever and intelligent,” he said to Aktual.com in Jakarta, Thursday (18/2).
He explained that the electricity tariff industries in Indonesia charged 11 cents per kWh, while the ratio in Vietnam was only 6 cents per kilowatt hours (kWh).
“it is means difference of 5 cents dollar, while the use of our hundreds of thousands of kWh per month and some even millions of kWh per month so there is one person who paid electricity up to 7 billion per month,” he complained.
Therefore, the Indonesian products unable to compete with foreign products because foreign products cheaper than local products.
Seeing these developments, he felt the government policy does not support the national industrial sector in a variety of global competition, including competition in the free market of the ASEAN Economic Community.
“It is evident from the BPS Imports of consumption is higher than the import of raw materials, due to the consumption or use of foreign products increased due to a more appropriate price,” he concluded.
