Jakarta, Aktual.com – The National Executive Council of the Indonesian Poor People’s Union (DPN SRMI) reject any form of eviction in the name of development in Jakarta. SRMI also reject all forms of violence involving security forces in the eviction process.
“Jakarta government seemed so caring to the people who’ll lose bussines field to be the only means of survival for poor people,” said General Chairman of DPN SRMI, Wahida Baharuddin Upa, in a written statement to Aktual.com, Monday (18/4).
“How many thousands of settlement people that would become victims of eviction by the city government?” He asked.
Wahida revealed, during the eviction city government often carried a variety of reasons. Even eviction happens always using the power of the security forces, often people face to face with thousands of security forces.
“Violence became a regular treats at every eviction,” he explained.

Added, DPN SRMI also rejected the discussion of draft Regional Regulation About Zoning Plan for Coastal Areas and Small Islands (RZWP3K) is a ‘booster’ for reclamation permits that have been issued by Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).
