Jakarta, Aktual.com – Press Council effort to complete eight cases of murder and violence against journalists before World Press Freedom Day held next year.

“We try to solve this problem, in which the authority of Indonesia to host the World Press Freedom Day if it is not finished,” said Press Council Chairman Joseph Adi Prasetyo period 2016-2019 in Jakarta, Sunday (10/4).

To resolve these cases, they will make a request for a hearing with the police chief and his staff.

“We will also coordinate with the Foreign Ministry and the Communications and Information Technology to discuss this issue,” he said.

Joseph said the cases of violence against journalists is still happening, and therefore the Press Council wants to extend the memorandum of understanding with the National Police so that it can be minimized.

Besides the Press Council will also explore a memorandum of understanding with the military.Regarding the contents of the memorandum of understanding, he said that the Press Council is reviewing.
