Jakarta, Aktual.com – Special Unit of Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) has recommended to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) for infrastructure development Masela block management is much more profitable if it was built with the concept of Floating LNG (Offshore / marine) rather than with the concept OLNG (onshore / landline).
However, various parties have subsequently questioned the validity of those recommendations. Besides, there is suspicion that then tries to draw the interest of the development of the concept of offshore Masela block (sea), the statement of the Ministry for Maritime, Rizal Ramli stating if cheaper Masela block construction on land (onshore) would invite public questions.
Director of Indonesian Resources Studies (IRESS) Marwan Batubara revealed, linked to the debate whether offshore or onshore in the Masela block management is to invite public suspicion.

Marwan actually doubted the recommendation submitted by SKK Migas and a team of Inpex stating that the Indonesian government is much more profitable if the Masela block management infrastructure development in the sea.

Marwan revealed, the difference between the cost incurred when the Masela block management infrastructure built on land far larger than when it was built in the sea.
“The difference is huge 23 billion dollars to 16 billion dollars. Difference 7 billion dollars, okay no extra charge extra 2 billion for the pipeline, now we are beginning to hear the pipe 400 KM, was only 90 km. This means that the shorter than previously mentioned. This means that the cost could be cheaper,” he said.
According to Marwan, the construction at sea may not be cheaper than on land. Marwan said, if construction on land it only need concrete.
“If the sea needs to wake up several times a ship which covers an area of a football field. That is, if the land was more expensive campaign was a big question mark,” he said
By him that further Marwan, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) should make a special team Masela consisting of the Ministry of National Development Planning Agency, Energy and Mineral Resources, Finance, and called the campus to conduct a study.
“I did not say studies institute SKK Migas is bad, but with this particular team, we want to realize that the calculation of strategic projects can be more transparent and objective fees to be had,” he added.
