Jakarta, Aktual.com – Hundreds of women from all society is rally to the State Palace that located at Medan Merdeka Utara Street to take action to commemorate International Women’s Day.
Coordinator of Women’s Solidarity program (SP), Dinda Nuranisa said mass action at this year carries the theme ‘Women Sovereign, free Of Oppression’.
“The reality today women and marginalized groups still various experience oppression in all aspects,” he said on the sidelines of the action, Medan Merdeka Utara, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (8/3).
According to him, the social system of patriarchy still has control of the female body, the mind until the results of the work. Which in the end, the position of women in society including marginalized in decision-making.
“The system of women oppression, whether that is done by social and countries have made women lose their sovereignty,” said Dinda.
Dinda adds, women’s loss of sovereignty to be caused by weak state system also supports women as a vulnerable group.
“Susceptible to various forms of abuse and violance of human right to the women,” he said.
In the action, the mass action previously made political speeches in front of the Statue of Horses, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat. Afterwards they long march to the State Palace.
