Jakarta, Aktual.com – Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia, Muhammad Aqil Nadeem has submitted a written application to the President Joko Widodo to postpone the execution of a death sentence against one of their nationals as well as a fresh probe.
“We have filed a petition to the President on pending death sentences on behalf of the citizens of Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali, and until now has not received a response,” said Mr Nadeem after the seminar “Kashmir Black Day” in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/7).
Embassy of Pakistan has received written notification from the Government of Indonesia regarding executions Zulfiqar Ali, who is rumored to be executed this Friday and have contacted all relevant authorities in Indonesia to emphasize that the punishment against him unfair.
According to him, the Government of Indonesia especially relevant parties need to review the case because key witnesses withdrew statements in the dossier (BAP).
Zulfiqar Ali (52) was charged with possession of 350 grams of heroin and had been arrested since 2005. The key witness of this case, namely Gurdiph Sigh, has revoked its report in the BAP and mentioned that heroin did not belong Zulfiqar, he said.
