Jakarta, Aktual.com – Jakarta Government is requested by National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) to stop the eviction plan in Bukit Duri, South Jakarta, to suit the residents in Central Jakarta District Court is legally binding.

The lawsuit is registered in a civil case number: 262 / Pdt.G / 2016 / PN.JKT.PST on May 10, 2016.

“If it is not stopped until the verdict of the law, meaning the head of Metropolitan area does not respect the law,” said Siane again.

Komnas HAM looked eviction is not the solution to the welfare of society. Instead of displacing and moving citizens to flats rented, the city was asked to re-evaluate the arrangement of the city.

Komnas HAM will provide an official letter to the Governor of Jakarta to stop the eviction plan Bukit Duri and give attention to the people.

If ignored, the komnas HAM promised to continue to provide a letter of recommendation. “There will be a second letter, the third. We are confident the community will give own assessment, “said Siane.

After two warning letters to the People, the city government plans to carry out evictions homes in Bukit Duri, expected on September 14, 2016. The area affected is normalizing policy Ciliwung RW 9, RW 10, RW 11 and RW 12.

Residents of Bukit Duri Assistance Coordinator Wisnu Handono said there would be approximately 2,000 families are victims of eviction.
